Scrolling guide

Get more than one screen.

Capture a vertically scrolling page or conversation, with a manual option when automatic scrolling is not a good fit.

Prepare the window.

Bring the window you want to capture to the foreground. Choose a stable content area and avoid changing the window size during capture.

Start scrolling capture.

  • Choose scrolling capture from the tray.
  • Select the intended region and direction.
  • Keep the source window visible and active while it moves.
  • Watch the capture result and stop when you have enough content.

Try manual scrolling.

Use manual scrolling when the source app reacts poorly to automatic input. Move through the content steadily and allow enough overlap between successive views for stitching.

When capture stops.

Klips stops scrolling safely when the source loses foreground ownership. Content that redraws constantly, sticky elements and unusual scrolling behavior can affect stitching. Review the image before saving; a partial result can still be useful.

Check the boundaries.

Confirm that the first and last lines are included and look for repeated or missing sections. Use the editor to select a useful part, copy it, or apply a deliberate crop.
